About This Job:
This position is responsible for the directional oversight of the hourly production team members to ensure daily operations are running as planned while meeting production goals.
Shift & Pay:
- Night shift available. These are preset, rotating 12 hour shifts (Combination of days on and days off so that in a 14 day period you work 7 days and are off 7 days). A work calendar is provided at the beginning of the year so that you can plan family events around your work schedule for the entire year.
- Salary(Inquire) + monthly Profit Sharing (Cash + Company paid 401k Contributions). Providing for you now as well as for your future.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain a team of motivated, productive, and positive attitude employees through training, coaching, counseling, and taking appropriate corrective action to meet production goals.
- Identify issues within the production processes and work with production manager to define and resolve problems, as well as continuous improvement recommendations. Identifies and suggest improvements and deficiencies through the appropriate channels.
- Production Supervisors are responsible for maintaining a safe working environment as well as being a proponent for all safety regulations and practicing good safety standards.
- Coating production supervisors are responsible for the productivity of their shift by developing, monitoring, and maximizing team member and equipment capacity through effective pre-shift planning, cross shift supervisor coordination, interdepartmental coordination, as well as relaying equipment conditions thru the appropriate maintenance channels.
- Accurately & factually complete shift reports – able to write accurate reports and compile data for easy understanding. The Coating production supervisor informs the production manager by maintaining an open and honest dialog while always maintaining integrity.
- Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments, training, vacations, breaks and overtime assignments.
- Liaison with maintenance/quality technicians to ensure little or no down time on production equipment.
- Monitor and advocate quality control.
- Conduct informative pre-shift meetings.
- Establish team member goals and conduct performance reviews for hourly employees.
- Communicate and coordinate with other supervisors/managers
- Monitor timecards, corrective actions, and annual focal reviews of hourly team members. Understands the basics of compensation versus skill level criteria.
- Assigned a company cell phone with the expectation that they may need to communicate with the plant on their off days
Requirements:
- Two years’ experience in a multi-task production environment supervising 10+ employees. Five years manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend oral and written instructions and prepare and present clear and comprehensive written reports. Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to present information in both one-on-one situations and group settings to team members and production manager.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as the ability to learn other computer programs within the manufacturing process.
- Proficient in basic mathematics.
- Have a positive attitude to motivate team members to successfully accomplish daily tasks and production goals.
- Possess effective communication skills, both verbally and electronically through email.
- Ability to assign, train, supervise and evaluates the work of hourly team members.
- Ability to analyze situations and adapt quickly and effectively with reasonable courses of action with due regard to the mission of Cardinal Galt CG and the circumstances of the situation.
- Must be competent in the following areas: effective supervision, teamwork, communication, conflict management, coaching, results oriented, initiative, decisiveness and maintain a safe/secure work environment.
- Physical demands: performs bending and reaching as necessary to obtain materials and tools. Subject to standing for long periods of time. Must be able to use a keyboard, grip objects. Must be able to talk, hear and understand spoken communications in noisy environment. The employee must be able to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
